Youth P.O.W.E.R. (Pray, Open the Word, Worship, Encourage, Reach Out) Groups (also known as YPG) is a place to break away from the ordinary, cookie-cutter life you see everyone around you living. At YPG you’ll be invited into healthy friendships and challenged to grow close to God and live out your faith. High school students are invited. We meet every Wednesday night from 7:00 – 9:00pm at various member homes throughout the year.
So you’re probably wondering what we do at Youth P.O.W.E.R Groups… we work hard to create environments where students experience biblical teaching which deals with real-life issues in small groups which are a great place for students to feel safe to open up and form healthy relationships and opportunities to serve together.
We worship God, we grow together by sharing life, and we’re on mission together. Following small groups there is still time leftover to talk with friends and get to know new people. Plenty of snacks are provided!

Milestones are public events in the faith life of a child or young person which we celebrate together as a church family as part of our corporate worship. Our Milestones include:
Baptism– Baptism is a sacrament that Jesus commanded us to participate in. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus said: Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward, spiritual work of grace. In this milestone we are reminded that our sinful self is sacrificed unto death and a new birth- a new life – a new self emerges.
Sword Ceremony-This Milestone is reserved for our 3rd graders when they receive their first Bibles. We believe that the Word of God-or the ‘Sword of the Spirit’ as the Apostle Paul refers to it- is a powerful weapon against the enemy and a powerful tool to draw us near to the Lord.
Purity Ceremony – All 8th graders and their parents are invited to a special teaching on Biblical purity which is held on a Saturday during the school year. On the next day, as a part of our 10:15 church service, students who so choose, make a public commitment to stay sexually pure until marriage.
Affirmation of Faith Ceremony – This Milestone event takes place the last Sunday in April at our 10:15 service. In this ceremony, students, especially 8th graders who have completed 3 years in Middle School Ministry ( known as our M&M ministry), publicly affirm their trusting faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Senior Blessing – For this Milestone we help parents or guardians write a letter of blessing to their student as they embark on their new chapter of life following high school graduation. It is a beautiful and often moving ceremony and a lovely way for families to publicly affirm their love, pride and hopes for their young graduate.
