“Out” Day—Prayer Walk & Picnic
Here at Shepherd of the Lakes we are friends, living and leading like Jesus, bringing the Kingdom to the lost and the hurting. As we seek to live into our vision statement we are going to go ‘OUT’ on June 24th to bring the Kingdom to our community! This ‘OUT’ will be a prayer walk downtown followed by a picnic at Rotary Park (downtown riverfront). Never done a prayer walk before? No problem! We will do a brief teaching and everyone will be given some prayer ideas and we will stop often to pray as a group. This will be a casual, family friendly event and kids are welcome. So, pack lunch in a cooler and join us after service on June 24th!
Sample Prayers for Business:
Heavenly Father, thank you for (Name of Business).
Father your word says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).” Give those who own and manage your wisdom as they seek to work hard to make it secure and prosperous. May good practice be the cornerstone of everything they do. Come reveal new openings and areas for expansion and development.
May this business grow and flourish, creating great opportunity and provision for all those involved. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Father, you love to bless your children. We pray for (name of business) We read in your word (Isaiah 54:2-3), “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.” Lord, enlarge your influence in the business community of Waupaca. Give courage to employers and employees to partner with you in blessing their families and our city. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Father in Heaven, we pray for (name of business). Your word says (Joshua 1:8), “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Give wisdom and insight to the owners, and employees that they may pray and mediate on your word so that they will experience peace during the struggles of the workday. As they hear your word may they find encouragement and balance. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Prayers for the City:
Holy God, my Father, thank You for the many blessings that Waupaca has. I pray for those who are in the offices that govern this community and that they make wise and godly decisions which are always in the best interests of the community. I am glad that we have the freedom to speak up and vote. Even if I differ from these leaders, I pray for them to be blessed by You God. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen.
We have heard all about you, LORD. We are filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help Waupaca again as you did in years gone by. And as you bring judgement, remember your great mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2) In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
This summer we are excited to partner with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Friday, July 27th from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. Paige Levine, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student and Shepherd of the Lakes member is coordinating the blood drive as part of the Red Cross Leaders Save Lives program. The Leaders Save Lives program is a youth-focused program encouraging community-minded high school and college students to sponsor blood drives to help ensure a stable blood supply over the summer months. Participating student coordinators can win scholarships, earn gift cards and learn valuable leadership skills by recruiting their friends, family and community members to donate during this critical season.
Donations often decline during summer and many regular donors delay giving while they vacation and take part in summer activities, but the need for blood is constant. Each pint of blood collected can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. Please consider donating to assist Paige and American Red Cross in their efforts to help patients in need.
